Defending against a straight punch, students will use a sequence of small defense techniques to ultimately grab the attacker by the head for a takedown.

The instructor will call out numbers to tell the students how many kicks to do, the last kick always being to the head on Bob. This drill works balance and speed in the round kick.

Use Bob to follow this warm up progression for round kicks. This drill is great to loosen up those hips for more intense drills or sparring rounds.

This takedown should be used from the ground to lock the attacker's leg. Keep in mind that sometimes the most basic technique is the most effective self defense technique.
